Remorse. Whenever the Tyskri kills a living creature it makes a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or becomes overwhelmed with remorse for 1d6 rounds, making ability checks and attack rolls with disadvantage .

Telepathic Bond. The Tyskri can communicate telepathically with a charmed creature over any distance, even on a different plane of existence.

ACTIONS

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6+3) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) psychic damage.

Draining Touch (Recharge 5–6). Melee Spell Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 22 (4d10) psychic damage. The target’s hit point maximum is reduced by the same amount until it finishes a long rest , and the Tyskri regains hit points equal to the damage dealt. In addition, the creature makes a DC 15 Charisma saving throw or it suffers one level of strife

Charm. The Tyskri targets one humanoid on the same plane of existence within 30 feet, forcing it to make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw . On a failure, the target is magically charmed for 1 hour or until the Tyskri charms another creature. The charmed creature obeys the Tyskri’s commands. The creature repeats the saving throw whenever it takes damage or if it receives a suicidal command. If a creature’s saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, it is immune to any tyskri’s Charm for 24 hours.

Etherealness. The Tyskri magically travels to the Ethereal Plane. While on the Ethereal Plane, the Tyskri can see and hear into the Material Plane and can choose to make itself audible and hazily visible to creatures on the Material Plane. If a humanoid on the Material Plane invites the Tyskri to do so, the Tyskri can use an action to magically travel from the Ethereal Plane to the Material Plane.

BONUS ACTIONS

Shapeshift. The Tyskri magically changes its form to a Medium or Small humanoid or into its true form. It can fly only in its true form. While shapeshifted, its statistics are unchanged except for its size and speed. Its equipment is not transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

REACTIONS

Living Sacrifice. When a creature the Tyskri can see hits it with an attack, the Tyskri can give an order to a creature charmed by it that it can see. The charmed creature uses its reaction, if available, to move up to its Speed. If the charmed creature is able to swap places with the Tyskri after finishing its movement, the attack hits the charmed creature instead of the Tyskri.

Description

“Beware the lone lad or maiden in the forest, for they desire to mourn your death,” is a saying common among communities which the tyskri prey on. Though they resemble short, young, and defenseless humanoids with an air of cluelessness and unawareness, once a victim has been lured into ambush a tyskri becomes a cackling dryad-like creature crowned with a wreath of lilies, crystheneums, and forget-me-nots.

Named for the wallowing and mourning they do after making their kill, the tyskri is a bit odd even among other fey who tend to be more genuinely friendly or naively malicious. While many mortal stories regard tyskri with a sense of pity that likens them to a child losing their innocence upon learning about the moralities of the world, most fey have a very poor opinion of this particular kin—those friendly to mortals find them despicable and deceptive, while malicious fey consider them overly dramatic.

There are several theories on how tyskri came about, the most prevalent of which is that they may have been fey that were captured and corrupted in Nülda. This theory has some merit as tyskri are most often encountered in locations where the borders of nature are thin. Whether they were good fey forced to commit evil or evil fey cursed with a sense of morality is a hotly debated topic that currently has no answer yet.

Residents who live around areas where tyskri have been sighted are given a single piece of advice when it comes to these creatures: convincingly play dead. Supposedly a tyskri will either lose interest in a lifeless victim or they will be overcome by remorse (creating a small window of time to make an escape either way).
