Rare in the extreme, these gargoyles resemble golden eagle statues with emerald gems for eyes. They are the last remnants of the Rhinam that can be found above the ice, and each keeps watch above a set of Rhinam offering stones, sacrificial spaces where countless humanoids were killed to feed the endless lives of the Rhinam. Still following the orders of their long dead creators, a guardian will remain motionless at a site for months at a time before relocating to another according to some inscrutable logic. A guardian will attempt to kill any humanoids it discovers at its location, believing them to be an offering and, if successful, charges the life gems that serve as its eyes with the victims’ souls.
