Fiend Forest March
The march of several dozen treants corrupted by fiendbloom, their destination unknown, has overtaken the area. Fighting so many creatures is not an act of bravery, only a foolish way to certain death.
Gaining the attention of the fiendbloom treants causes them to focus on the party’s destruction, resulting in a Critical Failure. Otherwise a successful group check allows the adventurers to avoid their leafy wrath.
- Stealth check to avoid being noticed by the fiendbloom treants.
- Survival check to efficiently navigate around the march without crossing paths.
- Deception check to divert the march’s attention elsewhere long enough to pass.
Critical Failure: The fiendbloom treants pelt the party with heavy stones and whatever else they can find. Each adventurer takes 24 (6d6) bludgeoning damage, loses 5 (2d4) Supply , and suffers a level of fatigue .
Failure: The area counts as difficult terrain (making this section of the journey take twice as long) as the adventurers stay just out of range of objects thrown by the fiendbloom treants.
Success: The adventurers manage to bypass the fiendbloom treants.
Critical Success: The adventurers deftly avoid or navigate through the ferocious march of the fiendbloom treants. Roll on the Boons and Discoveries table.
