Conductive. Each time a creature touches the luz mala or hits it with a metal melee weapon for the first time on a turn, the creature takes 7 (2d6) lightning damage. This trait doesn’t function while the luz mala glow is extinguished.
Insubstantial. The luz mala can’t pick up or move objects or creatures. It can move through creatures and objects. It takes 5 (1d10) force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.
Treasure Sense. The luz mala knows the location of coins, gems, and other nonmagical wealth within 500 feet.
Undead Nature. A luz mala doesn’t require air, sustenance, or sleep.
Dreadful Light. A creature that begins its turn in the area illuminated by the luz mala or enters it for the first time on a turn must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of the luz mala and drop whatever it’s holding. These effects last for one minute, and the creature can repeat the saving throw at the beginning of its turn as long as the luz mala isn’t in its line of sight, ending the effect on a success. This also effect ends if the luz mala extinguishes its light. If a creature’s saving throw is successful, it is immune to any luz mala’s Dreadful Light for 24 hours.

Spirit Drain. Melee Spell Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (3d10) necrotic damage. The luz mala can’t make this attack while its glow is extinguished
BONUS ACTIONS
Illumination. The luz mala alters the radius of its glow (shedding bright light in a 5- to 20-foot radius and dim light for the same number of feet beyond that radius), changes the color of its glow, or extinguishes its glow (making it invisible ).
A luz mala is created after the death of a creature that has done truly evil deeds in the pursuit of greed. In its avarice, a luz mala seeks to steal the lifeforce of living creatures, even though it can’t benefit from this theft.
