Spider Climb. The corpse fly can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check .


ACTIONS

Putrid Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (2d4 + 2) piercing damage, and the target makes a DC 12 Constitution saving throw, contracting a blood maggot infestation on a failed save. On a successful save, it instead takes 2 (1d4) poison damage. If the target is reduced to 0 hit points from this attack it dies and rises 1 minute later as a gorger zombie.

Corrosive Bile Spit (Recharge 5–6). Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, range 15/30 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (2d6 + 2) acid damage.

Description

The adult form of the blood maggot , the corpse fly is a winged insect the size of a human infant with. While many consider them more of a pest than a threat, this can be a deadly mistake, as they in fact possess an intelligence far beyond that of their mundane counterparts. However, while they do use logic and reason, their motives are utterly alien to those few they choose to communicate with and they seem to have no capacity for emotion.
