Keen Hearing and Smell. The longtongue has advantage on Perception checks that rely on hearing and smell.

ACTIONS

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage plus 4 (1d8) poison damage and the target is grappled (escape DC 12). Until this grapple ends, the longtongue can’t bite another target.

Swallow. The longtongue makes a bite attack against a Medium or smaller creature it is grappling. If the attack hits and she has not swallowed another creature, the target is swallowed and the grapple ends. A swallowed creature has total cover from attacks from outside the longtongue, it is blinded and restrained, and it takes 7 (2d6) acid damage at the beginning of each of her turns. If the longtongue dies, the target is no longer swallowed.

BONUS ACTIONS

Tongue Pull. The longtongue chooses a target within 15 feet and forces them to make a DC 12 Strength Saving Throw. On a failure, the target is pulled into a square adjacent to the longtongue.

Legends and Lore

With a Nature or Science check, characters can learn the following:

DC 10 Ravix pups are instinct driven with no sense of self preservation. The older a ravix gets, the bigger and more intelligent they get, their adaptations becoming more and more pronounced. They are highly attracted to shiny objects during their adolescent stages.

DC 15 Longtongue ravix are a larger, more dangerous mutation of the spcies.

Description

Ravix are an annoying and invasive species of rat-like creatures common throughout space travel for breeding quickly and adapting to their environments with astounding speed. Swarms of ravix prey on smaller game and infest any place they can create a nest. They are the size of normal rats, but have sharp pronounced fangs and tusks, are generally grey in color, and have two sets of black eyes.

Behavior

1 Chewing down on the corpse of a creature

2 Hiding in the dark, waiting for a potential victim

3 Swarming over a wreck or abandoned home

4 Fighting amongst themselves over some shiny trinket

Signs

1 A chewed corpse with bite marks in its armor and gear

2 A terrible stench

3 The sound of skittering claws on the walls or floor

4 Crates chewed through, their contents devoured
